Fika with founders
Stories captured over coffee to help founders engage their community and see their business grow.
Why fika with founders?
I love coffee. It’s what gets me out of bed in the morning. Hot, steaming, black filter coffee in a double-walled glass beaker. It’s the only way to start the day. A further coffee shop pit mid-morning, usually at an independent coffee shop. So why not be more intentional with my habit and enjoy fika with a founder?
I know a thing or two about founders. I was married to one. And I’ve worked with them ever since. Supporting them on their path to success, starting or scaling a business. They seem to have a collective uniqueness. I’m curious about that.
What inspires them? What are their superpowers, character traits and habits. How can others cultivate it? I’m interested to gather and share their origin stories. Starting with coffee.
1. founder stories are good for growth
I also know a thing or two about marketing. Twelve years in agencies, during the London hey-day when business was done over socials not on social media. Then client-side where I unwittingly found myself supporting founders grow their business through marketing - strategy, campaigns, digital, advertising, press & PR. Having gathered a lot of insight on what actually works, one thing became increasingly clear - founder stories are good for business.
2. growing a founder community
Being a founder is a tough gig. In so many ways. You need nerves of steel and dogged determination, not to mention resilience. Some days you feel like the world is against you, others you are on top of it. Life is a roller-coaster, emotionally and financially. So Fika with Founders is a place where I hope founders can learn from and be inspired by each other and maybe even reach out and connect. I’m all for collaboration over competition.
3. telling tales
Storytelling is huge. Stories are as old as time.
Stories are how we passed on information that kept up safe from harm. Helped us connect, collaborate and grow stronger together. Stories build trust. Regardless of whether your professional forum is other businesses or individuals, ultimately, people connect with people
I’ve seen behind a few websites in my time and have a hunch that an authentic origin story is good for business. So I want to help founders connect with their community, customers, clients by telling their tale. And in the process, improve their website bounce rate, increase their engagement and see their business grow.
So I’ll be inviting founders to join me for coffee. Coffee on me, in return for sharing their story. I’m keen to know if my theory rings true.
